Winter in Maine
A couple of weeks ago, before our first dusting of snow, I headed to the beach with my dear old high school friend. Here's to coastal living, regardless of the season!

Austin, TX
I'll be heading down to Austin next week. I'm planning a day of portraits on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Austin Museum of Art - Laguna Gloria. Anyone looking to have a portrait session should contact me to reserve a time.
Happy Thanksgiving
I can't believe Thanksgiving is already here! I swear it was October just yesterday...
This past Monday, while walking a dog at the ARL, I came upon a wild turkey. I have never seen one in person even though I know they are common here in Maine. How apropos that I would see one just before Thanksgiving.
If you are traveling this holiday, I hope it is a safe and stress free trip.
Wishing you all a very happy Thanksgiving!

Website Galleries
I'm in the process updating my website galleries. I also added another gallery for wedding images. I pulled down the Bar Mitzvah gallery so if you are interested in seeing my bar mitzvah samples please contact me to set up an appointment.
Hope you have fun looking at the new stuff!

The Morning After
So we all awoke to a new political landscape. I am always awed by the power of the electorate in times like these. Is it really possible that a more moderate, centrist Congress will convene next year? It remains to be seen whether Republicans and Democrats can play nice and actually get anything positive accomplished. I remain cautiously hopeful.
OK, enough politics. I am still working furiously on all of your holiday orders. Just give me a call or send me an email if you want an update on the status of your order.

Damien Rice
This is soooo great. I LOVE (LOVE!) Damien Rice. His long awaited new album is coming out next week. I just found out that you can listen to it here.
An Update from Maine
I've returned from NYC and am turning my attention back to the album or reprint orders that have been coming in. We're in the holiday rush right now so please be patient. I encourage you to order directly through your Pictage online gallery. The holiday sale was extended a couple of days, and you will get much faster service if you take me out of the loop.
Today is election day. It's always an exciting day. If you haven't already, I encourage you to go vote.

Greetings from New York
I'm blogging from Manhattan this week. I'm here attending the Photo Plus Expo and have had the pleasure of learning from many of the industry greats: Denis Reggie, Seth Resnick, Katrin Eisman, Martin Evening, Clay Blackmore... It will be a miracle if I don't come home with some new equipment -- it's just not possible to be surrounded by the latest and greatest and not be tempted. Today's biggest lesson came from Denis Reggie who reminded me of the importance of searching for -- and waiting for -- "found moments."
The photographs from the Vangelder-Gallagher Wedding are available. Log onto Pictage to see them (you will need the password to gain access to the gallery). I love these pictures and can't wait for the bride and groom to see them.

Support Your Local Animal Shelter
Please support your local animal shelter or the ASPCA. Every time I walk into the dog kennels at the ARL there are new residents who are just waiting for someone to give them a good home. I can't even begin to tell you about all of the cats!
Here are some photos of the great animals at the Animal Refuge League's annual pet walk fundraiser.
Sammy is a big lovable black lab and is one of the dogs available for adoption.

Recovery
It was a very long -- and damp -- weekend here in Maine. Congratulations to Jen and Greg who got married on Saturday at the Samoset in Rockland, ME. They are a super couple and it was an honor to be a part of their wedding celebration. I took a very quick peak at some of the images and am very excited to share some here very soon.
I dragged my aching bones out of bed early Sunday morning to photograph the Animal Refuge League's Paws in the Park event. I just started volunteering there walking dogs once a week (this afternoon is my second day) and was more than happy to donate my services to their fundraising event. They have a lot of great animals up for adoption. If you aren't looking for a new cat or dog or other critter maybe you will keep them in mind this holiday and can send a donation...
This morning I slept in really late after my sleep deprived weekend. You'd think after allowing myself a very (extremely) late morning that I'd be eager to tackle my work. Think again. I stumbled upon this (thanks to Liz at Washington Post blog). Sorry, but it's very hard to stop once you start so click on that link at your own risk.
I'll be posting new images here so check back soon.
