Another Amazing Contest

My fellow photogs and I keep up with each other by reading our blogs, and I came across this awesome contest on Sam Depoy-Warren's (thanks, Sam!). The Sebasco Harbor Resort, one of my favorite venues, is giving away its services for a 2009 wedding. Yes, an entire wedding can be yours for free if you win. You can see the way the place looks for a wedding on on my website or here on my blog. I photographed Shelby and Roger's wedding there last June. It was rainy and I was dealing with major morning sickness, but it was still one of my favorite weddings of the summer. Not only is the location gorgeous, the staff is amazing.

New Feature

Martha Stewart on Weddings

I love bridal fashion. Just ask me how many dresses I tried on for my wedding! Badgley Mischka showed dresses on Martha's wedding show. In a word -- stunning. They pointed out something so obvious but worth repeating: that the back of your dress is as important as the front because that's what people will be seeing throughout the ceremony. The closest store that carries Badgley Mischka is L'elite in Boston.

One of my favorite foods is cake. I love cake. Talk about finding a job that ends with the best perk -- a slice of wedding cake! And of course, Martha Stewart is showcasing some beautiful cakes. I personally love photographing pretty cakes but if it doesn't taste good, really what's the point? I have a great idea. The next couple who signs a contract with me will receive a copy of Martha Stewart's Wedding Cakes book. But you must promise me a piece of your wedding cake!

Baby News

I met and photographed so many of you this year while pregnant. On Saturday, December 22nd, baby Henry arrived. He's keeping me incredibly busy and I'm getting very little sleep. I'm trying to keep up with my emails, but please be patient if you don't hear back from me right away. Thanks!

A Break

I am off Tuesday evening for a much needed mini-vacation. I have been pushing out the work as fast as I can, but it's time for me to take a break and recover for the summer of shooting. Everyone who is waiting for their online galleries please be patient. I promise that getting your wedding photos to you is a priority. But if I don't get away for just a couple of days I think I may go batty. I'll be checking emails and answering calls (you can reach me on my mobile) while I'm away and will be back at my desk the following Tuesday morning. Up next when I return is Leslie and Jamie. I'll be volunteering my photography services on Sunday at the annual Paws in the Park event in Portland. As you may recall, I did this last year. Hopefully some of the great dogs currently up for adoption will be there for you to meet. Come say hello to me if you are there -- I'll be the tired (I have a wedding Saturday night) pregnant lady with the camera.

FYI the ARL's website hasn't been updated lately because the staff is now splitting their time caring for the over 200 animals seized in Buxton and their regular jobs at the shelter in Westbrook. I was at the ARL Monday for my weekly dog walking session, and there are a bunch of great dogs and cats and other critters. If you are looking for a friend stop in and see who's waiting for you (and give a treat to my buddy, Chance).

New Images on Website

Hi everyone! Hope you are all staying cool in this crazy hot weather. I'm photographing Karla and Mike at the beach this afternoon and can't wait for the cooling ocean breeze. Sitting at my computers all day doesn't help me feel any less hot. I've been uploading new images to my website galleries. When you get a chance check out the new e-session images I've posted. I'll be adding new wedding images soon, too.

Tomorrow is Kristina and Jim's wedding. The weatherman says the thunderstorms won't start until the evening -- cross your fingers he's right! I'm super excited to be photographing Kristina and Jim because they are the sweetest couple and we had so much fun when we had their engagement session. As always I'll be posting a couple of images here as soon as I can so check back in a couple of days to see what happens tomorrow...

Travel Schedule

This week in DC is going to be fairly busy with little or no time to spare. I still have Thursday from around 3 - 5:30 PM available...

Washington, DC

I'll be in DC April 12 - 15. It's going to be a busy four days as I'll be photographing something different every day. This means that I am pretty much booked my entire time there. I do still have time on Thursday (the 12th) in the afternoon from around 3 PM - 5:30 PM. This will be my last trip to DC for a while.
