Baby News

I met and photographed so many of you this year while pregnant. On Saturday, December 22nd, baby Henry arrived. He's keeping me incredibly busy and I'm getting very little sleep. I'm trying to keep up with my emails, but please be patient if you don't hear back from me right away. Thanks!

Help for the Grooms

I can't tell you the number of times I've witnessed mass panic when the groom realizes he can't figure out how to tie his bow tie. Here's a great presentation on tying the perfect bow tie. Hope this helps all you brave guys wanting to wear the real thing and not a clip on!

To Help with the Poll

Here's a photo of my huge baby belly taken this past Saturday to help you vote in this week's poll.

Forgotten Rave

I can't believe I forgot to share this with you all:

"We feel so lucky to have had Amy Salerno photograph our wedding! She was always quick to get back to us, answer our questions and she was willing to meet with us at convenient times/locations. On our wedding day, her schedule kept us on track for the whole day and made it go very smoothly. She took wonderful pictures that we'll have to remember our wedding day forever. I would recommend Amy to anyone/everyone getting married in Maine or nearby. She's great and so very talented." -- from Meredith

Gabriel

My friend, Kate, and I spent most of this year pregnant. Well, I'm still pregnant, but her baby boy is finally here. His first photo shoot was at 4 weeks old, and he found it very hard to stay awake. I have no doubt the next time we photograph him that it will be very different!

Sydney's Second Photo Shoot

I arrived to photograph Sydney and found her nose running and eyes red. The poor thing had a cold. Usually that does not bode well for a photo shoot. But Sydney persevered like a super model. She even tolerated a cold and windy trip to Kettle Cove. I'm looking forward to her third photo session only let's do it in the summer!

Jane and Jim

Jane and Jim
October 27, 2007
Kennebunkport, Maine

Jane and Jim's wedding was not spoiled by the rain. The bride sported colorful wellies and made her way through wet grass and over slippery rocks under the cover of a huge umbrella so we could get some stunning images. Event planner Nicole Garvey did an amazing job coordinating all of the details. The beautiful cake is by Gayle Forte at Let them Eat Cake. Their online proof gallery is available on Pictage. As always, the gallery is password protected so please contact me or the bride and groom.

Another Rave Review

This just in from David and Jenna:

"Like our wedding day, Amy’s photos came out perfect! Not only did she capture everyone in wonderful, fun, unique and unposed images, but she did it so unobtrusively that we barely remember seeing her!

Amy’s work is outstanding and we couldn't be more pleased we chose her. We recommend her enthusiastically."

How's It Possible????

I cannot believe that it's been 20 years since U2's The Joshua Tree was released! I can remember sitting in class knowing it would be waiting for me at home -- a CD in a long box (anyone remember those?!). Wow. Now I'm really feeling my age!

Jack and Katherine

I can't think of a more fun way to spend an couple of hours than photographing the antics of these two young friends. Sure, with two three year-olds there was always the potential for a massive breakdown, but these two sweetie pies had the most fun romping around in the leaves.

Fall Photos

I forgot I took these at a recent photo shoot. There's a chance of snow in the forecast for the end of the week which makes these images seem a bit out of season...

Loni and Jess E-Session

Engagement photo shoots are the best -- everyone is casual, there are no fancy dresses to worry about, and we get to have a lot of fun finding new ways to torture the guys! After seeing the results from this esession, I can't wait to photograph this wedding next July. The rest of the images will be available on Pictage later today or tomorrow. Now is a good time to pre-register for the gallery (you receive a $5 gift certificate for doing so).

Recent Rave

This just in from Rachel:

"I wanted to say hello and thank you again for the amazing job you did on our wedding photos. You caught so many great moments and expressions, it really felt like the sentiment and the mood of the day was captured splendidly. I can't wait to share the photos with everyone. What a cool talent you have."

Karla and Mike

Karla and Mike
October 6, 2007
Freeport, Maine

This was another stunning, yet complicated, wedding gown. I love that Karla came with notes and a photo of how the back of her dress was supposed to look. I think her mom and maid of honor did an amazing job weaving the ribbons!
